ABOUT US
Serenity Hill kennel was founded in 2016 when I was planning my first litter of puppies with my first Kooikerhondje female Berry. It didn't take long and in 2017 we had our first litter of puppies and my long-time dream came true. It set in motion big life changes, moving to another city, and for a while there was no space for another puppies. In the end, everything fit in well and I knew that for a father of our second litter I wanted to go to the Netherlands, to see the country of origin of this beautiful breed and also bring new genes to the Czech Republic. But I had no idea how complicated traveling would be even to neighborhood, let alone to other countries, due to COVID. However, in the end we managed to go to the Netherlands for mating and in June 2021 we had a second litter of puppies and we kept a puppygirl, named Trixi. And I sank into breeding of this lovely breed far more than ever before.
OUR PURPOSE
As you may see, we are not a big kennel. Our two dogs, Berry and Trixi, are full members of our family and accompany us almost everywhere. I always try to plan puppies with a certain purpose, so I pay a proper attention to the choice of stud dogs. I always try to combine all aspects, appearance, character, health and genetics. I am aware of how important it is to maintain genetic diversity in such a rare breed. This was one of the main reasons why we chose a stud dog from the Nethelands for our second litter. In order to achieve a varied gene pool, we ideally need to get at least one male and female from each litter into breeding, which is why I decided to provide breeding service and support to the owners of our bred dogs. If they are open to showing them and breeding them but have no experience with that, they can breed one litter under my kennel. I offer them complete support. Therefore, in the planned litters, hopefully, you will also find external litters (after bitches that I do not own, but are from our kennel) and in the section "Our dogs" you will also find profiles of our offspring - males and females from our kennel with aspiration to breeding.
WHO WE ARE
My name is Lenka Schneiderova. I got my first Kooiker, a female named Berry, when I was still a student at the University of Economics in Prague. Later we expanded our pack to include Martin and his son Sam. Breeding is mainly my passion, but it wouldn't be possible without Martin's support. Before he met us, his life had never been touched by a dog, but Berry immediately won him over and played a small part in bringing us together. I quickly introduced him to the joys of life with dogs and later to breeding, and he supports me in all my crazy ideas. We both love nature and enjoy it with our dogs. We live in Brno, but we spend a lot of time at our holiday house in coutryside. My second passion is traveling. After the pandemic years we start traveling again and visit many beautiful places and also several dog shows in Europe (Denmark, Germany, Austria, Netherlands). Since 2022, I have been a member of the breeding committee of the Kooikerhondje section, where we strive (together with other 5 members) to inform, support, and educate Kooikerhondje breeders in the Czech Republic.
